Question: I need to output the special sign «₺». defining the Turkish currency “Lira” in print forms or messages. When I try copying this special sign from MS Word or web browser and then pasting to 1C:Enterprise Platform modules, nothing gets pasted though. Is it possible to access such special signs in 1C:Enterprise Platform modules?
Answer: In order to express such special characters, we use the Char() function of the platform. Let’s see how to do it for Turkish currency special character «₺»:
- Search in the internet for “special character Turkish Lira UTF-16”. You will find out that it is “0x20BA”.
- The Char() function accepts a decimal number parameter only, so it cannot use the “0x20BA” right away. Indeed this “0x20BA” is a hexadecimal number, we have to use the corresponding decimal number with the Char() function.
- Search in the internet for “0x20ba to decimal”. You will find out that it is 8378.
- Now in the modules, simply write Char(8378) in order to get the «₺» sign.
