Overview
A business might need to run 1C:Drive in multiple languages. For example, when your company operates in different local markets, and you should provide your customers and vendors with documents in the local language. Or, you have multilingual employees who run the application in their native language.
To display the interface and forms in another language, you need to sign in as a user with this language. However, master data (such as the description of products, units, and counterparties) will remain in the default language.
To deal with it, 1C:Drive allows for multilingual master data. Instead of duplicating the same master data items in every language, you can add descriptions in additional languages to a single master data item.
Limitations
- 1C:Drive supports up to four additional languages for master data.
- You can choose additional languages only among the languages that are present in the configuration. To view the available languages:
- Open a configuration in the Designer mode.
- In the metadata tree, expand Common > Languages.
- Master data in reports is always displayed in the default language. To view the default language:
- In the navigation menu, go to Settings.
- Under Application settings, click General settings.
- Click the Regional settings link.
Note. We don't recommend that you change the default language after you have entered accounting data into 1C:Drive.
Prerequisites
- To enable and set up multilingual master data, you need Administrator privileges.
- Optional: If you want to choose a master data language on print forms before you generate them:
- In the navigation menu, go to Settings.
- Under Application settings, click Print forms, reports and data processors.
- Under Additional print options, select the Display print options before printing.
Setting up additional languages
To enable additional languages for master data:
- In the navigation menu, go to Settings.
- Under Application settings, click General settings.
- Click the Regional settings link.
- Under Additional languages, select up to four checkboxes and choose the languages.
- Click OK.
Now, you can manage master data in the selected languages. If master data details in your user language are missing, the details are displayed in the default language.
Entering master data in additional languages
To enter a master data in an additional language:
- Open a master data item. For example, a product.
- Next to a field, click
. For example, next to Description.
- In the window that opens, enter item description in additional languages.
Note: You must provide master data in the default language before you can enter the data in the additional languages. The default language is always on top. - Click OK.
Let's illustrate the result with an example. Supposing, your company offers delivery services in the UK and Germany. To make it easier for the German staff to handle the accounting documents, you provide the Delivery product description with the German translation (Lieferung).
Now, when you sign in as a German-language user, the product description is displayed in German. Also, when you search for the product, you can start typing Lieferung to get the suggestion.
Generating print forms in additional languages
When you generate a print form, 1C:Drive allows you to choose in what language to display the master data on this form.
Note. To display a master data item on a print form in an additional language, enter this item's Detailed description in the language.
To generate a print form with the master data in an additional language:
- Open a document and click
Print.
- Select a print form from the list.
- In the Print options dialog, select a language.
- Click OK.
The generated print form will contain master data in the selected language. If you want to display the whole print form in another language, sign in as a user with this language.
