A production task can be a part of the multioperation make-to-order process. In this process, a production task is an activity required for completing operations included in a work in progress document.
Create production tasks if you want to re-arrange scope of work to be done. For instance:
- Assign operations to a certain employee or a team of employees.
- Distribute operations between several assignees.
- Re-define due dates for certain operations.
For instance, a work in progress document includes 10 furniture assembly operations. Then you can generate 2 production tasks with 5 operations for each of them. You can assign these tasks to different assignees.
