The slow connection mode is intended for systems with low bandwidth communication channels (such as a GPRS modem). The performance and traffic volume are optimized by reducing the number of server calls and cutting out the transfer of insignificant data.
The connection speed is set in the dialog boxes for adding and editing the infobase (for details, see 1C:Enterprise 8.3. Administrator Guide), or in the infobase settings during client startup (for details, see section "" on page ).
You can recognize slow connection mode by the absence of section icons in the sections panel.
When you start the application, its window displays the desktop commands and a blank work area with the Show desktop hyperlink. If you need to work with desktop forms, click this link.
Remember that in slow connection mode a notification about closing a form that applied a data lock is sent to a server after a 20-second timeout or together with a request to open another form.
In this mode, when you fill an input field by selecting a list item or typing with auto completion, data is not always read from the database. Instead, 1C:Enterprise uses cached data when possible. If you know that new data is added to the database but not yet displayed in the list, repeat the selection (click the selection button in the input field again) or update the list (in the choice list form, use the Refresh command or press F5). When you type in an input field, this does not open the selection list automatically. To open the list, press Down Arrow.
