Production orders are arranged in the queue according to their priority. When a production order is added to the queue, it takes the last position in a group of production orders with the same priority. The higher the priority, the higher the production order position in the queue.

Production orders with the higher position are scheduled first. If you want to change the order of scheduling, rearrange the production orders queue. You have the following options:

  • Change production orders priorities.
  • Manually move production orders.

Changing production orders priorities

To change the priority of a production order in the queue:

  1. Go to Production > Planning > Production planning and control.
  2. Double-click a production order line.
  3. In the Priority field, select a priority.
  4. Click Post and close.

The production order takes the last position in the group of production orders with the same priority.

Note. After you change a production order priority, the production orders in the queue can require rescheduling.

Manually moving production orders

You can manually move production orders up or down the queue. This applies only to production orders with the same priority. For instance, you can move a production order with a medium priority to a position above other production orders with this priority. However, you cannot move a production order with a low priority to a position above a production order with a medium priority.

To manually move a production order up or down the queue:

  1. Go to Production > Planning > Production planning and control.
  2. Select a production order line.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • To move the production order up the queue, click up.png.
    • To move the production order down the queue, click down.png

Note. After you change a production order position in the queue, the production orders can require rescheduling.
