An intra-warehouse transfer is a document that you issue to register inventory movement from one storage unit to another within the same warehouse. For example, a storage unit can be a storage bin or a picking area.
An intra-warehouse transfer can be a part of the Procure-to-pay process. For example, you might want to move received inventory from a bulk storage area to a picking area. In this case, you can generate an intra-warehouse transfer based on a supplier invoice. A generated intra-warehouse transfer includes prefilled details and a link to the source document. This saves your time on data input and facilitates inventory traceability.
In 1C:Drive, an intra-warehouse transfer supports the following operation types:
- From one to several. Actual inventory movement from one storage bin to many.
- Several to one. Actual inventory movement from many storage bins to one.
The intra-warehouse transfer workflow can vary depending on your business needs. To learn more, see Intra-warehouse transfer workflow.
